(quick and probably dumb question) I want to finally play oblivion but it says I need a 64-bit os of an older os.
As in, when you try to launch Oblivion from Steam, does Oblivion Launcher appear as a process in task manager? This is a clean installetion, (No mods, only Vanilla).Deleting the INI in the my games folder doesn't help as the game don't start.Clicking in the Oblivion Folder does the same result. lol. Id suggest selecting windows vista or windows 7.
Where do you have the game installed? Do you know where can i find the version of DIrectX the is the correct one for Oblivion ?If the compatibility mode is going to work, you should set it to Windows 7 or Windows 8 mode. (think the game came out when vista was around, but should probably work on 7) Alternatively you can manually do this by right clicking on the installer exe, select properties, then go to compatibility tab.
