Se pensaba en un principio que Unknown era uno de los hijos que había tenido Jun Kazama en el pasado y fue abandonada en un bosque y posteriormente poseída por el espíritu de un lobo, pero esto fue un error que se pensó y no fue hasta Tekken Tag Tournament 2 donde se confirmó que Unknown es en realidad el espíritu de la hija de Jun Kazama el mismo que asimilo para obtener mas poder, ya que tiene el símbolo del gen diabólico en su hombro, el mismo que posee su hijo Jin Kazama, por lo que ya se descubre que Jun Kazama posee el gen del diablo (lo que hace que se transforme a Unknown mientras que Jin se transforma a Devil Jin), probablemente transferido por Kazuya Mishima a finales de Tekken 2 al tener una relación de la cual saldrá Jin posteriormente.
