There are other trails throughout so be sure to keep your AllTrails on :) steep inclines in places, forested with a few great views. Beautiful scenery everywhere. Different than expected..follow the app not the signs..we started loop the took a detour out. There are a lot of different trails so it can get a little confusing since the signs aren’t so clear to hikers. If the weather has been dry awhile (no rain in a week or more) you wont see any waterfalls or water at all outside of the Hartsell Hollow which is a trickle in dry periods. There is some erosion and some parts were muddy, but I managed it in a pair of sandals and no walking sticks.Great trail but difficult at times and definitely a test of endurance. None of these trails are for the faint of heart but the view at the top makes every tiresome step worth it! A nice hike with decent views in the summer but becomes much more open after the leaves fall. Saw people taking photos of the map at the trail head .When you get to were it looks like the main parking, it is'not. We spotted 11 different types on the trail. Part of the Buffalo Mountain trail system, Tip Top proudly overlooks Downtown Johnson City and its surrounding green mountains. Will return to explore more.Definitely recommend light pants and not shorts as there is poison ivy reaching out and is unavoidable on the short climb of the Tip Top trail. I’m in great shape and still struggled at times. The staging area is small and open for day use only but is paved and has a loading ramp and self pay kiosk station..
