Chen Yi Fan is the icy, aloof vice president of a real estate corporation. Because of this I found this film to be much more rewarding than most other films about Asian-Americans. However, Martha's second novel is suffering from severe writers' block brought on by Chu's presence in the house. All the conflict in the film is grounded in the real world, as opposed to some very abstract 'generational conflict'.
